Barbeque is through and through an American phenomenon and so is the sauce! Sure you hear of British BBQs, consisting of burgers and hotdogs, in the summertime but it is not the same “sport” as it is in some parts of the US! You can buy different types of barbeque sauce in the supermarket, but the most popular one is made by Heinz and is terribly sweet. It’s alright and it’ll do the job, but sometimes you just need to make your own!
Sure, at first it seems daunting – make your own bbq sauce?! But this recipe is ridiculously easy and doesn’t take many ingredients or much time at all. The only thing was the colour was much redder than traditional store-bought sauces due to the tomato paste base instead of normal ketchup; however, if the flavour is there, who cares?! I love the fact that I know everything that goes in the sauce and it certainly is delicious!
